Eugene comes from the Legal, Insurance, and Claims Repair/Construction sectors, transitioning from trusted external advisor to internal problem-solver in regulated industries, leading teams as General Counsel, Chief Administration Officer, Head of Broker & Client Management, and then as CEO.
He has helped businesses and leadership teams through restructures and strategic resets, guiding different teams in different businesses across Australia and New Zealand to various achievements, for example: secured a new license with a new governance regime one year ahead of the market; increased NPS scores by 47 points; won a Law Award (NZ); secured a first time ever nomination for Insurer of the Year after 40+ years of trading; secured historic “first time ever” sponsorships and converted them into increased retention and new business rates; improved client panel ratings from “suspended” / “under review” to “top tier” / “preferred”, resulting in new multi-year contracts; improved net revenue despite reduced or frozen headcount; increased staff engagement scores by up to 12%; and, introduced new financial and “way of working” processes within SMEs that met external governance and audit standards, facilitating smooth transitions for incoming capital.
